Power Battery Safety Takes Center Stage in China‘s NEV Industry – 2025 Annual Review

In 2025, China‘s NEV industry maintained strong growth. According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), total vehicle production reached 34.531 million units and sales reached 34.40 million units, maintaining China‘s position as the world‘s largest automotive market for the 17th consecutive year.

NEV production reached 16.626 million units and sales reached 16.49 million units, marking year-on-year increases of 29% and 28.2% respectively. Domestic NEV sales accounted for over 50% of total vehicle sales.

Exports also performed exceptionally well. In 2025, China‘s total vehicle exports reached 2.615 million units, nearly doubling year-on-year. These figures demonstrate that China‘s NEV industry has entered a new phase of scale-driven, high-quality development—a trend that directly benefits the entire lithium battery supply chain, including LiFePO4 battery manufacturers serving global B2B buyers.
